Barcelona, Spain – February 26, 2014 – Telenity, a leading provider of innovative location-based services and solutions for communications networks, today announced the successful service launch of its Workforce Tracking Solution, CanVAS® SmartTrail with Idea Cellular, the third-largest mobile operator in India with a growing base of over 130 million subscribers.
Idea Cellular’s Workforce Tracking Service targets small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and enterprises that need to monitor and take control of the activities of their field employees to optimize their productivity and performance. The underlying technology provided by Telenity’s CanVAS SmartTrail allows businesses to track their remote employees in real-time using any handset or mobile device type, ranging from basic mobile phones to smartphones.

CanVAS SmartTrail offers an enhanced user interface that is designed for speed and efficiency. It supports many powerful features, such as multiple map partner support, zoom, pan, map caching, satellite imagery, routing, per asset location history, periodic reporting, points of interest (PoI) support, radius and geo-fence alerts/rules, messaging, and task management.
In addition to network-based tracking, with added support for GPS positioning, CanVAS SmartTrail allows devices with GPS chips to be located and tracked. Through its partners Telenity offers a number of GPS devices that can be used with the solution.
