Barcelona, Spain – Feb 26, 2015 – Telenity, a leading provider of innovative services and solutions for communications networks, today announced that it has proudly joined the HP OpenNFV Partner Program.
Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is a new paradigm to design, deploy and manage Communication Service Provider (CSP) network services in cloud-‐enabled environments. NFV replaces dedicated network appliances with flexible and virtualized software building blocks on scalable industry-standard servers. NFV radically reduces both the costs and the risks of introducing new network services while accelerating service deployment.
The HP OpenNFV Partner Program is designed to help the telecommunications industry accelerate innovation and launch services faster, more easily and more cost-‐effectively, facilitating the industry transition to NFV. The program accelerates partner NFV application revenue and verifies partner applications in the HP OpenNFV ecosystem meet the standards of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI).
Participants in the HP OpenNFV Partner Program receive access to NFV software development kits (SDKs), application programming interfaces (APIs) and resources to enable application testing and readiness for carriers, speeding innovation while reducing risk. Application partners conduct testing, characterization and validation on the ETSI-‐compliant HP OpenNFV infrastructure stack.
“We aspire to become the preferred VNF supplier of innovative VAS Consolidation, API Management, Service Enablement solutions for wireless and wireline communication service providers,” said Dr. Gurol Akman, CTO at Telenity. “HP’s OpenNFV Partner Program provides a unique and exciting opportunity for transitioning of our carrier-‐grade Canvas products and platforms to NFV in the most flexible and scalable manner, based on HP’s NFV infrastructure featuring cutting-‐edge server/storage virtualization and cloud technologies.”
At the core of the HP OpenNFV program is an expanding set of well-‐outfitted OpenNFV labs across the world that offer a unique NFV partner experience, which ranges from simple remote self-‐service testing to full-on-‐site custom interoperability verification and high-‐volume network traffic testing.
“Our open architectural approach to NFV is designed to ensure that carriers have a flexible, multivendor platform from which to quickly test and then launch new and innovative services,” said Werner Schaefer, vice president, Network Functions Virtualization, HP. “Telenity’s work to transition its CanVAS portfolio to NFV make it a welcome addition to the HP NFV ecosystem.”
Telenity’s CanVAS® Solution Portfolio, a subset of which will be subject to extensive “NFV-‐ readiness” testing, validation, and benchmarking in HP OpenNFV Labs, is the end product of more than 10 years of research and development. The portfolio includes the following innovative products:
