Canvas USSD Browser and Router Solutions Recognized for Innovation and Cooperation
Istanbul, Turkey. – October 7, 2011 – Telenity, a leading provider of advanced platforms and solutions for location-based services, social media, mobile marketing and messaging, today announced that it has received prestigious award at ICT Summit Eurasia 2011. Telenity was awarded third place for its Canvas USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) Browser/Router solutions for enterprises deployed in Saudi Arabian mobile networks through cooperation with local partner TelecomCell.
On behalf of Telenity, Serif Acar Beykoz, General Manager Europe, Middle East and Africa received the award from Turhan Mentes, President of Turkish ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Association at the ICT Summit Eurasia Awards Ceremony held on October 3rd, 2011.
“Telenity’s USSD product portfolio is already deployed in close to 20 mobile networks across MEA and APAC serving over 200 million subscribers,” said Serif Beykoz, General Manager EMEA at Telenity. “In collaboration with TelecomCell, we extended our footprint to the enterprise segment in Saudi Arabia. This award is a testament of our commitment to developing and deploying solutions that meet diverse needs of our customers globally.”
Telenity’s project which received third place among 23 competitive applicants from the region, included the custom development, delivery and testing of Canvas USSD Browser, Router and Menu Creation Environment to offer USSD services to the enterprise segment in Saudi Arabia including banking, e-government, transportation, and healthcare through the local operator networks. USSD technology is far more cost-effective than a live help desk or IVR technology and with the dial of a simple short-code it allows companies to offer quick, simple and interactive access to enterprise services such as balance checks, customer service, flight schedules and booking status, and order status from any GSM handset.
“In many markets, services that are accessible by even the most basic phones are required for both operator and enterprise profitability,” said Ahmet Ozalp, CEO at Telenity. “Canvas USSD solutions offer the best cross-platform mobile technology and help operators reduce cost, while at the same time offering interactive and intuitive self-care, banking, social networking, location-based friend finder, and top-up services that are accessible on any device, any time, anywhere.”
Organized as an international platform where successful cross-border projects realized by and through mutual cooperation of ICT companies in the region are recognized and awarded, this year’s ICT Summit Eurasia Awards witnessed competition from 23 international applicants. Projects were assessed based on several success factors including geographical coverage, effective program management, technologies and products used, research and development, and uniqueness. While Telenity received third place, Vodafone Teknoloji came in second and TAV IT won the first place. Special jury awards went to Koc Sistem and Neterra, Bulgaria.
