Barcelona, Spain – Mar 4, 2015 – Telenity, a leading provider of innovative services and solutions for communications networks, today announced its CanVAS SmartTrail™ solution as the technology behind Idea’s WFTPLUS Enterprise Resource Tracking Service. Idea Cellular is the 3rd largest mobile operator in India, and the 6th largest globally, in terms of subscribers in single country operations.
By utilizing the mobile network-based positioning technologies, CanVAS SmartTrail™ determines and tracks the location of the selected cellphones of the enterprises that have registered to the WFTPLUS service. The solution enables tracking of employees and enterprise resources via their regular cellphones, eliminating the requirement for purpose-specific equipment of similar services. An administrative account is provided to enterprises to add, delete and modify the information about the cellphones that are to be traced. The administrator can create multiple “geo‐fence” areas to get automatic alerts via email when a tracked resource (i.e. a cell phone) ‘enters to’ or ‘exits from’ these areas. To protect the privacy of the employees’ personal lives, the solution enables the selection of the days and hours for tracing and limits the location visibility to working hours only.
“We aim to provide mobile operators a best-of‐breed, cost-effective and easy to use enterprise resource tracking solution,” said Ilhan Bagoren, CEO at Telenity. “The easy deployment, smooth operation and quick adoption of our workforce tracking service at Idea Cellular’s network has increased our confidence in the maturity and reliability of Telenity’s Canvas SmartTrail technology. We continue to work with our mobile operator customers to improve our offering on an ongoing basis.”
CanVAS SmartTrail™ solution provides an interactive graphical user interface, which presents an instant snapshot of the current location of all employees through a heat map style window. The service administrator can zoom in and out of the map to get a more detailed view of teams and individuals. The historical location information of selected employee is drawn on the map showing the details of the routes he/she has taken with timestamp information.
“Idea has been providing enterprise resource tracking solutions to organizations in India, for a number of years now. The brand-new features and the enhanced user interface of WFTPLUS, will augment our enterprise resource tracking services to customers.”, said Mr. Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer at Idea. “Telenity has been a reliable partner of Idea especially in Location-Based Services (LBS) space. We are glad to see the investment Telenity makes in its solutions to utilize the most up-to-date technologies.”
