Canvas PayForMe, Mobile Collect Call Service

LET YOUR PREPAID CUSTOMERS MAKE CALLS EVEN IF THEY RUN OUT OF CREDITS OR HAVE A LOW BALANCE. LET THEM STAY CONNECTED, ALWAYS.

Animated Demo

Even with increasing use of innovative data and mobile entertainment services, voice traffic still accounts for a large portion of mobile operator revenues. Ever increasing competition from prepaid low-cost MVNOs, and proliferation of services from non-telcos like Skype, Facebook and Google, and regulations such as number portability place a lot of pressure on operators to find new innovative services to increase their revenues and increase customer loyalty while at the same time decreasing costs. Thus, maximizing voice revenues and minimizing any potential losses become a key goal for continued business growth. Telenity’s Canvas PayForMe, Mobile Collect Call Service, helps operators achieve this goal by tapping into existing revenue streams or from 3rd party sponsored calls and increasing network usage.

A large portion of the total global mobile subscriber base consists of prepaid users and subscriber growth is expected to be driven by this segment during the next five years around the world. Although they may be highly enthusiastic mobile users, pre-paid subscribers usually have lower disposable income levels resulting in cost-consciousness and tendency to regulate their calls and call less to manage expenses. In addition, prepaid subscribers who run out of credits or have a low balance cannot make calls which results in lower average ARPU and potential revenue loss for operators. Telenity’s Canvas PayForMe, Mobile Collect Call Service, minimizes this loss by letting subscribers to initiate calls even if they run out of credits, have a low balance or simply want to reverse charge the cost to the called party.

Calling collect has been one of the key voice services in the wireline networks for years. It has allowed operators to generate additional revenues and has enabled subscribers to connect to friends and family from public locations, especially in cases of emergency or when their prepaid calling card balance is not enough to initiate calls. Bringing the same service to wireless subscribers with Canvas PayForMe, Mobile Collect Call Service, helps wireless operators increase their network usage and voice traffic, and stimulate new revenue generating calls that would not have been made otherwise. Ensuring service continuity, Canvas PayForMe, Mobile Collect Call Service, builds up customer loyalty resulting in reduced churn.

Canvas PayForMe, Mobile Collect Call Service, is an innovative wireless reverse charge calling service which ensures that calls are still connected even for users with depleted credits. It also enables operators to target end-user verticals like the youth, low disposable income and enterprise segments – children calling their parents, or business users calling their employers from personal phones, or employers monitoring employee expenditures by controlling calls to the office.

SERVICE OVERVIEW

Canvas PayForMe, Mobile Collect Call Service, allows wireless subscribers to easily initiate mobile reverse charge calls without the involvement of an operator - through a simple USSD message followed by the target MSISDN, an SMS message or an IVR call - which makes the service available even while roaming.

Below is a generic service initiation example from a USSD interface:

  1. A Party (Caller) dials a USSD string followed by the phone number of the B Party (Called Party) to request a PayForMe, Mobile Collect Call, transaction
  2. The system generates a call to B Party informing that A Party with the specified phone number is requesting for a collect call to be paid
  3. Announcement requests B Party to accept/reject the collect call
  4. If B Party selects “Yes“ and accepts the call, his ordinary bill or prepaid account is charged for the call and the mobile collect call is initiated and the two parties are connected
  5. If B Party selects “No”, the collect call request is rejected.
  6. Flash SMS notification is sent to the A Party informing whether the call is accepted or not by the B Party.
