Turk Telekom Awards Telenity Contract for the Largest
Fixed-line Short Messaging System in Europe

Cannes, France – (Business Wire) – February 14, 2005 – Telenity (www.telenity.com), a leading provider of value added service delivery platforms that enable the programmability of wireless, wireline and next generation networks, today announced that it has signed a contract with Turk Telekom to supply Telenity's Canvas F-SMSC, Fixed-Line Short Message Service Center, integrated with the HP OpenCall® Media Platform. Canvas F-SMSC supports short messaging in fixed-line networks, as well as, between fixed-line and wireless networks and it provides legacy telephone support through multi-language Text-to-Speech capability. The system, which is one of the largest in Europe, will be up and running and commercially available in the second quarter of 2005 and will ultimately serve over 18 million subscribers.

“This is an order of magnitude and sophistication that includes some 15 new messaging services and applications with multimodal capability and follows another contract from Turk Telekom for the Canvas UMS, Unified Messaging System,” says Serif Beykoz, general manager at Telenity Europe. “Messaging-SMS, MMS and UMS-is and will continue to be one of the most lucrative services to increase ARPU and reduce churn. These contracts ensure Turk Telekom, the government owned fixed-line provider in Turkey which is going through privatization process, can very effectively compete with its wireless competitors and offer its subscribers innovative services such as Televoting, and push/pull and subscription based infotainment services.”

“The business benefits are huge,” says Dilip Singh, president at Telenity. “With Telenity's Canvas messaging applications, new services can be deployed in a matter of days or weeks, scaled up or down, and new and existing services fully integrated. Turk Telekom can create its own messaging services, work in collaboration with a dynamic global community of service and content developers, and exercise new options to support a wider variety of business models, including resale and revenue sharing arrangements.”

“The time and cost to market of new services are largely dependent upon the flexibility and versatility of the operating platforms,” said Celalettin Dincer, Vice President at Turk Telekom. “Telenity's Canvas F-SMSC application ensures we can immediately offer person-to-person and application-to-person services and, just as significantly, provides a smooth evolution to a complete menu of unified messaging services.
