Canvas^® Emergency Services, Location Based Emergency Applications, allow operators to offer time sensitive value-added services to wireless subscribers with an easy-to-use interface that can be used in emergency situations. The applications utilize the powerful services of Canvas LES, Location Enabling Server, that offers end-to-end programmable open standard interfaces for instant service delivery.

The Canvas brand covers multiple solutions with key components that are optimal for future growth in the evolving next generation networks (3G/IMS). Each Canvas product offers not only a point solution, but also re-usable building blocks that seamlessly integrate with other Canvas products as well as with Telenity partner solutions.

Canvas Emergency Services are a member of the Canvas Converged Value Added Services portfolio. They offer 2 major applications that make it possible for operators to turn their location infrastructure investment into revenue generators. These services are:

• Public Safety Service
• Emergency Alert Service

Both applications work seamlessly across GSM/GPRS and CDMA/1XRTT networks and offer a true multi-modal experience for subscribers using SMS and Web interfaces.

Public Safety Service
In an emergency, it can be difficult for a caller to explain where s/he is and where an accident has occurred. Callers can panic and fail to supply the necessary information that the emergency center urgently requires. Public Safety Service can be used to provide vehicle breakdown and accident information to the nearest police station and/or service company.

Public Safety Service is made available to mobile phone users without requiring pre-subscription and provides assault alarm services and vehicle breakdown services information, and helps speed up the response to incidents. The Public Safety Service request is initiated on demand by the subscriber via SMS messages.

Emergency Alert Service
Emergency Alert Service application allows delivery of emergency information such as inclement weather or any life threatening incident that is relevant to the wireless subscribers' current location. Emergency Alert Service application notifies the wireless subscribers within a specific geographic location of emergency alerts.
