Geocell is the first GSM operator in Georgia, founded in 1996. Despite the tough competition in the Georgian mobile market, Geocell acquired reputation of the innovator by introducing wide range of advance value-added services. Geocell was the first to bring to Georgian society the 16 KB SIM Cards with incorporated Geocell Menu, based on Sim Tool Kit Technology in May 2002, Missed Call Notification in August 2002, and Logo/Picture and Melody Messaging in November 2002. In 2002 Geocell's network coverage has been considerably expanded and reached 85% of the populated area. Geocell offers International Roaming service in 240 networks worldwide.
