Ahmet Ozalp brings nearly two decades of experience in telecommunications, wireless and digital media industries, as an executive, technologist and venture capitalist. Most recently, Ahmet Ozalp was the CEO of Telenity. Before that he was a Partner at Atlas Venture, an early stage venture capital, where he focused on investments in telecommunications, wireless and digital media. While at Atlas, Ozalp led investments in several startup companies including Extend Media and Myvu Corporation, where he still holds board seats. Ozalp also worked closely and had board level involvement with Ellacoya Networks (acquired by Arbor Networks), Isilon (IPO, Nasdaq:ISLN) and Gotuit Media. Before joining Atlas, Ozalp was VP of Marketing at Narad Networks, a VC-backed start-up company in the broadband access and cable infrastructure space, which was acquired by Ciena (Nasdaq:CIEN). Prior to Narad, Ozalp was a management consultant for Bain & Company in its technology and media practice working extensively with telecommunications equipment vendors, service providers and digital media companies.
In the earlier part of his career, Ahmet Ozalp spent six years at NewNet, a telecom startup, which was acquired by ADC (Nasdaq:ADCT) during his tenure. At NewNet, Ozalp was a member of the founding team who created the industry's first low cost, UNIX based SS7 platform and one of the first short messaging systems. He held successive positions as software engineer, product manager and director of engineering. While at ADC, Ozalp was the Product Line Director of the Advanced Wireless Intelligent Networks Group. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, an MS in EE from Columbia University.
